Sarah:

In today's episode, you'll learn how you can effectively market your podcast on Instagram stories. I'm sure you know by now that Instagram is a great way to promote your podcast. Now there's plenty of other features other than just putting images on your grid in order to build more awareness for your show. So in this episode, we're going to look at some ways you can effectively market your podcast on Instagram Stories. Tip number one is to share behind the scenes content. So when it comes to promoting on Instagram stories, we don't only have to push out content from the latest episodes, maybe do some screenshots of you and your guests recording an episode, maybe some artwork that you're trying to work on, and maybe topics that you're going to work on for upcoming episodes. Tip number two is to share the link to your latest episode from Spotify. Yes, you can do this. Even if you don't have the swipe up feature for Instagram. All you have to do is head to the Spotify app and find the episode that you want to share and then click on shared Instagram Stories. Tip number three is to create an audiogram. an audiogram is an animated image with a soundbite from your podcast. So the idea is to entice listeners pique their curiosity and encourage them to listen more by listening to the full episode. Now at Buzzsprout. We call these visual sound bites. And you can create one of these really easily after you log into your Buzzsprout account. All you have to do is to pick the vertical image sizing so that it fits right into Instagram Stories. Another great feature is that you can use the Canva integration. So if you have any templates you want to use, or you want to play around with some different design features you can do so there are also alternatives like wave and headliner, if you want to go ahead and explore those options as well. Tip number four is to repurpose your audio graph on Instagram reels. Take the audiogram that you use for your Instagram stories over to Instagram reels and consider adding a caption and some hashtags so that Instagram users who are on the Explore tab can find your reels, listen to it, and hopefully go over to your show. Tip number five is to share things from your listeners. Maybe they tagged you on Instagram story about your latest episode and have changed their life or somebody really, really loved your show and created some artwork and then tagged you in this case, why not repost it onto your own Instagram stories so you can show others that hey, you are paying attention to your listeners and B, you must be pretty cool and your podcast will be pretty awesome if there's listeners like that out there who's willing to share your content. Tip number six is to take advantage of the countdown sticker feature in IG stories. Maybe you come out of a hiatus. Maybe you're launching a new season of your show or even a new episode, all you have to do is to set the timer on that sticker to when that new episode season drops. And then when people go see it, they can easily click on that sticker and it builds a sense of anticipation even acts as a reminder for when your new episode drops. And the final tip is to take advantage of the highlights feature on your Instagram profile. Don't let all of the amazing content you've created on your Instagram Stories disappear in 24 hours, you can easily save those in the highlight section on your profile. And you can even sort the content into different sections like episodes or seasons or even behind the scenes. Thank you for listening to Podcasting Q&A.
