Whether you're just starting out or you're on your 50th episode, it can feel like a slog coming up with unique topics for your show. So let's cover some easy strategies to help you create topics for your podcast. The first strategy is to ask your audience they love your show, and they're listening for a reason. So why not ask what they want to hear, you can easily create a poll on social media or send a survey to your newsletter list as to what kind of topics they want to hear from you. Once you've compiled a few answers, take a look and see if any of those ideas are feasible for your next episodes. Strategy number two is to look back at your most popular episodes. If you don't know what those are, go ahead and log into your podcast hosting service and take a look at which episodes were the most downloaded. Once you have that list of episodes, take a look and see if there are topics you haven't covered in that episode or a different viewpoint of that topic that you can use. So for example, if you have a finance podcast, and you cover a show about the best credit cards of 2021, you can go ahead and create an episode on the best credit cards of 2022. The third strategy is use keyword research a keyword is just a fancy way of saying what are people searching for when they're thinking about your topic. You can use tools like Keywords Everywhere answer the public to look at what keywords and topics are most searched for, and you can build episodes around those. The fourth strategy is to listen to other podcasts, consider listening to podcasts that aren't in your topic of expertise. So if you have a finance podcast, consider listening to some comedy podcasts or some petsitting podcast and that could spark some ideas that you may even be surprised. Even if you're listening to podcasts in the same category as yours. The goal isn't to copy their topics. Rather, what ways can you add to it or different angles that you can take going back to the finance podcast episode example maybe another show already has created an episode on the best credit cards of 2022. So for you maybe you can consider having the best travel credit cards of 2022 or the best Cash Back Cards of 2022. As you're coming up with topics for your podcast.
