Today on five minute Monday we'll talk about how to make free custom audio grams to promote your podcast. Welcome to five minute Monday where we bring you the best tips and strategies for building your podcast in five minutes or less. So if you're new here, consider subscribing. Now an audiogram is where you turn your podcast audio into a video that you can share on social media. So if you've ever seen those videos where like the wave forms are changing and you get captions and things like that, all in a video on a social media platform, that's what an audiogram is ends. They're powerful because these videos are more native to social media platforms. So you actually have a better chance of someone listening to your podcast instead of scrolling right by that link that you posted. Now you can hire a video guru to make these promotional audio grams for you or you can use one of two free options. The first one is built right into your Buzzsprout dashboard and it's our visual soundbite. The visual sound bite is a 32nd audio gram that you can download and share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. All you have to do to create one is go to the episode that you want to promote. On the right hand column, you want to click the button that says create a visual sound bites. Once you get to the editor, all you have to do is listen to the episode to determine where you want your audiogram to start and stop and then click the green button at the bottom of the page. That's it. Once it's done processing, you'll receive an email with a link to download your audiogram. So that's the easiest way to make an audiogram that both looks good and that will work better on social media than posting a link to your podcast. But if you want more control over the look and feel of your audiogram, then we recommend checking out headliner, which is also free. There's a little bit more to it than doing the buss prop visual sound bite. So I'm going to walk you through the process of actually creating an audiogram video. So first, once you create your login and you're ready to start, you're going to select the audio gram option. There's a couple of other video options, but that's what we're going to be focusing on today. So you'll drag and drop in the audio file that you want to use and just like in the visual soundbite in Buzzsprout, you're going to choose your start and your stop points and then you're gonna Click next. All right. Once you do that, you'll choose the aspect ratio. Essentially, do you want a square video? Do you want a long video, a tall video? So you choose that aspect ratio and then you choose your audio wave. So there's several different styles of wave that you can choose from. You can use different colors that match your branding, the position on the graphic, and even put in a background image such as your podcast artwork. Now once you finish customizing that wave, it spits you out into the editor. Now once you're in the editor, you can make any tweaks that you'd like. You can adjust your wave forms, you can swap out your background image and you can even incorporate captions onto your audio gram. So headliner will automatically generate those captions for you. And then you can go in line by line and edit the captions to match the grammar and the syntax that you want to capitalize names, things like that. And then you can also the style of those captions. So maybe you want them in the top right corner, maybe you want them centered, maybe you want them to be bolded or italicized. You can do all of that inside of headliners editor. And then once you've tweaked it to your heart's desire and gotten exactly how you want it, you just export it and headliner, we'll do the same thing the buzz sprout does. It'll process your video and then send you an email when it's ready to be downloaded with the link to go and download your file. And even after you've downloaded it, you can go back and make tweaks and re downloaded it until you've got it perfect. So by creating shareable audiograms for your podcast, you can leverage the power of social media to attract new podcast listeners.
